ICASA is based on training and technique, social skills and an understanding of how human sexuality and spirituality can be integrated to deepen intimacy, enhance the quality of relationships and maximize the potential of individuals to establish relationships. The School deals with the treatment of sexual dysfunction in both men and women. Their staff includes medical doctors, a clinical psychologist and a consultant surgical urologist. Clients see a clinical psychologist for an assessment, and a medical doctor for screening tests (including HIV / STD's, etc) before being accepted on a course of ICASA Sexual Training. The Browns work with a small team of both male and female sexual training partners (surrogates) who guide clients through in-depth Sexual Training Programs. Their surrogates are included as an integral part of a comprehensive process of therapy and training in sexuality.
"Our Surrogate Partners are truly exceptional people; we usually have a team of four to six (four female and two male) at any one time," said the Browns.Sessions are supervised by either David or Jane in order to provide emotional security for the Surrogate and maximum effectiveness for the client. In 1991, David and Jane were asked to help in the development of an Impotence Treatment Clinic in Orlando, Florida. They researched the subject of sexuality and the treatment of sexual dysfunctions for both men and women, notably premature ejaculation, performance anxiety and inhibited orgasm and ejaculation. They studied the methods of Masters and Johnson, the Sex Therapy Institute of Boston, and in particular the role of surrogate therapy. In addition, they gained specific experience with sexual dysfunction through their work in the British Diagnostic Clinic in Florida. The Browns are members of the International Professional Surrogates Association (IPSA) as well as members of B.E.D.S. (British Erectile Dysfunction Society) which is part of British Society for Sex and Impotence Research (BSSIR). In their capacity as founders of The School of ICASA Enhanced Sexuality they are the resident 'sexperts' on Pulse Radio in Bradford, have appeared on National TV in two documentaries on sexual attitudes in Britain and featured in quality newspaper articles and national magazines such as The Times, Maxim, SHE Magazine, Australian Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.
